It would possibly a great energy saver to roof our roads with a cheap but strong material which cuts off the sunlight during the hot summer months. We would save on considerable need for air conditioning from cars as these would get significantly less hot while on the roads. Besides the tarmac would heat up less and therefore serve a longer lifetime (we all know how guie it becomes in the scorching noon sun, flattening it out and thus removing its water draining and grip properties). Third it would mean less fuel burnt on the roads and therefore cleaner air for all of us. A wild idea, but could it work?
People react according to how they feel not how they think. What they know barely changes their perceptions. And to this i attribute a major part of the success of Amazon. The amazon is the worlds lungs. The world over people know how useful and important it is for humanity. When someone says the word, Amazon, you instantly have a good feeling. It is a big green forest which does you lots of good. You do not necessarily picture the vision or actually think about it, but the feeling is there. And so when you browse to Amazon site you have a good feeling. It MUST be a good thing. You trust them. Of they have to live up to it, but the point is they are already riding a wave simply because they chose a marketable name…
On a similar note… Yahoo is fun. It is not cool like gmail but don’t you feel like putting on a smile when you say the word? With the violet colour scheme and font selection, they do not play out their marketing as strongly. But it is there an they continue to be leaders in revenue generation simply because people enjoy working with their site.
The right choice of name helps a business big time.
A gay site, turned social, turned trendy, turned retail, turned big business
“A crust eaten in peace is better than a banquet partaken in anxiety.”
“If there is to be any peace it will come through being, not having.”
“The name of peace is sweet, and the thing itself is beneficial, but there is a great difference between peace and servitude. Peace is freedom in tranquility, servitude is the worst of all evils, to be resisted not only by war, but even by death.”
Yes we all know leptin did not work the slimming wonders many would have wished it to, but scientists (as usual with results which still need to be confirmed) have reported that they now have a better (how good?) idea of how leptin works in our bodies, and what it affects. Most interestingly, it is reported that lack of leptin (which happens when we are very hungry) will cause us to lose our social and emotional responsibilities (for those who have any), allowing us to behave as we otherwise would not behave. Eating other people, for example. More here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00lw94w
